Edgar Allan Poe’s final resting place is located at Baltimore’s Westminster Hall and Burial Ground at 519 W. Fayette Street. On a cold wet day shortly after his death, Poe was laid to rest in his grandfather’s plot. In November 1875, Poe was reinterred in a new grave in the same cemetery with the remains of his mother-in-law. The ceremony was attended by poet Walt Whitman. Ten years later, Virginia Poe’s body was brought to Baltimore and laid with Poe and her mother.
