Tonight’s full moon may look a little bigger and brighter than normal. It’s the “Supermoon.” Click more for the details.
Keep your eye to the sky, as the full moon of May will hit its peak late tonight and into Sunday morning. This is all about timing, as within a minute of the moon’s closest approach to Earth, it will appear up to 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than the average full moon.
It’ll be at its fullest around 11:35pm. Some scientists from NASA also say you could spot meteors from Halley’s comet too, as about 60 meteors per hour can be spotted if you have a clear sky.
For science geeks like us, this could turn out to be a pretty cool event to watch over Baltimore. That is, if Mother Nature will grant us some clear skies.
