Join 101.9 LIF and our friends from WJZ-TV 13 this Saturday, November 10 and help in our relief effort for the New York and New Jersey victims of Hurricane Sandy.  Many communities are still without power and running water, and, of course, many people have had their homes destroyed.

Our relief event is this Saturday, November 10, at The Avenue at White Marsh.  Just look for the Dillon’s Motor Coach bus, parked near Tilted Kilt.   We will be accepting items from 7am to 7pm, and delivering them to New York the following day.

We are working in conjunction with local grassroots efforts in Brooklyn to make certain the items you donate are  distributed to needy families in areas such as Red Hook , Dumbo, Staten Island, The Rockaways in Long Island, and many others.  One of the businesses we are working with is Two Boots of Brooklyn.  Click here to check out their facebook page to see how they are helping the community.

These are the items most needed (you may want to print this list):

Cleaning supplies, including bleach

Mops, buckets

Rubber gloves

Breathing masks

Personal Hygiene Products

Winter gloves

Blankets

Candles

Batteries, especially “D” batteries

Plastic trash bags

Juice boxes

Diapers, baby wipes

Ready-to-Eat Meals (inc. Power Bars, Cliff Bars, etc.)— any food that does not need to be cooked or prepared in any way

Please note:  generally speaking, there is NOT a major need for clothing at this time, with the exception of underwear and socks.
